Chevrolet has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the 2014 Spark EV, ahead of the model’s official debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
After being announced to make its public debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show on the 28th of November, the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the North American based automaker releasing the very first images and details with the model, which has been scheduled to arrive in the company’s Californian showrooms next summer.
“When our team set out to develop the propulsion system for Spark EV, we knew we had to provide surprising fun-to-drive acceleration with maximum efficiency. What we think customers will enjoy most is how fun Spark EV is to drive; it’s seamless and power is available at every stage of the drive”, said the Spark EV chief engineer, Chuck Russell.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV is powered by an electric motor which is producing a total output of 130 HP and it has a whopping 400 lb-ft of torque. The model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 8 seconds. The SAE combo charger will allow DC Fast Charging up to 80 percent of the battery capacity in approximately 24 minutes and by using a regular 240V charger, the battery will be full in less than 7 hours.
