Chevrolet has recently pulled the wraps off the 2014 SS, a rear-wheel drive performance sedan which will go on sale across the United States later on this year.
After the 2014 Holden VF Commodore has made its public debut in Australia a week ago, previewing the 2014 Chevrolet SS for the first time, the new performance sedan has finally been unveiled in a premiere over the weekend. The model is coming with Brembo braking system, with a MacPherson strut front and a multilink independent rear suspension, with 19.8.5-inch rims at the front and 19.9-inch wheels at the rear wrapped in 245/40 and in 275/35 tires.
The cabin of the 2014 Chevrolet SS can transport up to five adults on its standard leather seats with eight-way adjustable front buckets, nine-speaker Bose audio system, ice blue ambient lighting, color heads-up display and more. Power to the new performance sedan made by GM is provided by the LS3 6.2 liter V8 engine, which is producing a total output of 415 HP (309 kW) and 415 lb-ft of torque (562 Nm), meaning that it’s just 35 HP (26 kW) and 35 lb-ft of torque (47 Nm) less powerful than the new Corvette. The unit is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission which is allowing the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in approximately 5 seconds.
