Last weekend, in Luxembourg, classic car enthusiast were able to admire more than 150 prestigious pre and post-war vehicles and motorcycles.
Following the same model as the Concours d’Elegance Villa d’Este, just that in smaller scale, the second edition of Concours d’Elegance & Classic Days Luxembourg took place at the Domaine Thermal in Mondorf-les-Bains on August 30 and 31 and gather collectors and visitors from all around the world. It is designed to gather vehicles and motorcycles that were built before 1975.
An international and professional jury awarded the award “Best in Class (Best in Class)” and “Best of Show (Best of Show)”. Furthermore, it was also an audience prize “Public choice (audience choice)” award.
First prize for the “Best of Show (Best of Show)” was a quality mechanical watch made by BORG WARD.
In 2013 it was the most significant event for classic cars and motorcycles in Luxembourg and celebrated 50 years of Porsche 911, 100 years of Aston Martin and 110 years of Harley Davidson.
“Judging by the registrations to date, this year’s Grand Tour and Concours d’Elégance look set to be equally as, if not more popular than, the same events last year and we’re looking forward to a wonderful few days at Mondorf.
Last year we raised enough money to grant 12 wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses, and this year we’d love to be able to do the same”, Marcel Hagendoorn, Make-A-Wish Luxembourg President said.
The event was organized by Make-A-Wish® Luxembourg ASBL together with Albert Wetz (www.oldtimer.lu) with the support of the Rotary Club Esch / Alzette.
