Acura has recently pulled the wraps off the TLX GT race car during the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
The new Acura TLX GT race car is being placed into the spotlights as we speak as the model in question has been officially presented to the public during the 2014 Detroit Motor Show. The racer will compete in the Pirelli World Challenge GT Class.
“The 2015 Acura TLX is a true luxury sport sedan, so it is fitting that the car be raced against several of its natural luxury competitors in the Pirelli World Challenge. Acura and Peter Cunningham’s RealTime Racing organization have a long history of success together, and we look forward to adding to that tradition with the Acura TLX GT race car in 2014”, said Honda’s Performance Development president, Art St. Cyr.
The Acura TLX GT race car was created by the Honda Performance Development (HPD) and it has an all-wheel drive system, a twin turbo V6 engine under its hood, which has been based on the 3.5 liter V6 found on the 2015 TLX, aerodynamic performance parts, which have been approved for the Pirelli World Challenge and an HPD chassis. No performance details have been announced on the model, for obvious reasons.
