2014 Fiat 500L officially unveiled in the U.S.

The Italian based automaker Fiat has recently pulled the wraps off the 2014 500L ahead of the model’s official debut scheduled for the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.

After it was officially announced for the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show not too long ago, the carmaker has changed its mind and has recently placed the 2014 Fiat 500L, aimed towards the United States, into the spotlights for the first time, by releasing the very first images and details with the model.

“The all-new Fiat 500L the reach of the FIAT brand in North America and will keep our customers within the brand as their lifestyle needs expand. Those who love the style and performance that only the Italians can create, can now enjoy space for five, functionality, practicality and value. The Fiat 500L is the whole package, and it now brings its unique flavor to the American market”, said the head of Fiat Brand North America – Chrysler Group LLC, Tim Kuniskis.

According to the car manufacturer, the crossover in question has 42 percent more interior room than the regular version of the 500. Power to the model is being provided by the same turbocharged 1.4 liter MultiAir turbo four-cylinder unit from the 500 Abarth and from the Dodge Dart, which is producing a total output of 160 HP and 184 lb-ft of torque. The unit is mated to a six-speed manual or to a dual-clutch transmission.

The Fiat 500L is being offered with features like the 17-inch alloy wheels, black exterior accents, the Chrysler Uconnect 5.0 infotainment system, the larger touch screen audio and more. The Fiat 500L is expected to end up in the company’s dealers in mid-2013. Additional details on the Fiat 500L will be announced probably close to its launch.
