The North American based automaker Ford has recently announced its plans to introduce the 2014 Fiesta ST at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST will be launched in the United States right after the automotive event and the model will target the Chevrolet Sonic RS. The Ford B-segment hot hatch will be powered by a 1.6 liter I-4 EcoBoost engine, which will produce a total output of 197 horsepower at 1,600 rpm and it will have a peak torque of 214 lb-ft, available from 3,500 rpm. The unit will be mated at first to a six-speed manual transmission, with an automatic being expected to make its way later on.
EPA hasn’t rated the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST just yet but the model is expected to achieve up to 34 mpg, which is significantly lower than the 40+ mpg of the regular version. The hot hatch will get a three-mode stability control, with standard, sport or off settings and the sound symposer will pump engine sounds into the cabin. The new Aston Martin-like grille, ST specific cues, the dual exhaust pipes, the rear spoiler or the 17-inch alloy wheels will be available on the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST. Additional details on the model over-seas will be announced on the 28th of November, during the L.A. Auto Show.
