2014 Ford Fiesta to get the 1.0L EcoBoost in the U.S.

The North American based automaker Ford has announced its plans to introduce the 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine on the 2014 Fiesta model in the United States.

Good news for those of you living in the United States who were looking for a B-segment hatchback because Ford has recently announced that the 2014 Fiesta will get the 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine under its hood. The 2014 Ford Fiesta, equipped with award winning 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine, will go on sale over-seas next year.

“Customers are going to be pleasantly surprised at what the smallest member of the EcoBoost engine family can do. Most customers are not going to be thinking about the number of cylinders under the hood when they drive the new 1.0-liter EcoBoost Fiesta. They’ll notice an extremely smooth and quiet idle, terrific acceleration accompanied by a sporty sound at high revs, and – most importantly – outstanding fuel economy”, said the Ford vice president of Powertrain Engineering, Joe Bakaj.

The all-new 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine to be used in the 2014 Ford Fiesta is able to deliver a total output of 123 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. Prices for the 2014 Ford Fiesta EcoBoost in the United States haven’t been announced yet and they are expected to be made publically close to the model’s launch.
