The British based automaker Jaguar has recently released a first teaser image with the upcoming XE entry-level sedan, during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, for the very first time.
A new entry-level sedan has been already announced by Jaguar but now the model in question is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the company releasing its first teaser image, during the 84th edition of the Geneva Motor Show. The photo posted above is partially revealing the front fascia of the so-called XE, which actually resembles the one of its larger brother, the XF.
The new Jaguar XE will represent the first model in its segment to get an aluminum monocoque. The vehicle in question will be taking its power from the newly developed 2.0 liter gasoline engine, and from the diesel Ingenium units. A high-performance derivative of the model is currently planned by the carmaker, which should be able to reach a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) and to emit less than 100 g/km of CO2. The new Jaguar XE will become a direct rival for models like the BMW 3-Series, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class or the Audi A4, amongst others.
