In February Audi officially announced the RS4 Nogaro selection, a very blue model destined to celebrate 20 years of high performance RS versions.
The Ingolstadt based company has now introduced the model to the public during this year’s Geneva auto show – celebrating with it the 1994 introduction of the first RS – the RS2 Avant.
The Nogaro moniker comes from the original RS 2 blue paint finish with pearl effect – a color proudly mirrored on the new RS4 Avant. Audi is trying very hard to conceal the lack of new and important additions to the line-up – the only newly developed model being the niche TT coupe.
The RS4 Nogaro has an upfront asking price of 87, 300 EUR, for which – besides the bigger trunk – you also get under the long hood a naturally-aspirated V8 4.2-liter sourced directly from the usual RS4 – good for 450 hp (331 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. That gets you through the aid of the Quattro all wheel drive system and seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox to 100 km/h in 4.7, before leaving your driving license in the police custody for reaching the 174 mph (280 km/h) top speed.
