Alongside the big Escalade SUV, ATS Coupe leads this year’s assault on European soil of the US luxury brand. For sure, those who seek a sleek, slender and beautiful, but not over the top premium model from the states will take a look at the latter.
Following its original debut at the beginning of the year during the North American International Auto Show, the 2015 ATS Coupe spearheads Cadillac’s presence in Europe, making its local unveiling at the 2014 Geneva auto show.
Cadillac is among those brands that could become a real gem – it features a bold, assertive and stylish design – and if they manage to up the game to match the quality of its German competitors – than would definitely make a statement on the Old Continent.
The ATS Coupe should go after the likes of Audi A5 and BMW’s new 4 Series coupe, equipped under the hood with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder good for 276 hp (203 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. We expect both six speed manual and automatic gearboxes to be available, while Cadillac will offer the model in rear wheel drive and all-wheel as an optional. At the moment, we see no diesel in sight – which could prove a big handicap against the European competition.
