The Geneva auto show has been the host of the official public unveiling of the production version of the rugged Adam Rocks model, just like last year it was the venue for the preview concept.
Crossovers, especially those with reduced dimensions are all the hype these years, ever since Nissan made a bold statement and revealed the Juke. Now, every producer rushes to cover the slot and some, like Opel even further snatch clients with more than one. Besides Mokka, Adam Rocks – a more rugged version of the city dweller will cover the small crossover area.
You know all the details about the car – it’s actually nearly identical to last year’s concept – and we are thoroughly delighted they decided to also bring the full-length electric folding canvas roof.
We also have a good choice of engines, starting with the all new 3-cylinder, 1.0-liter ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo which delivers 115 hp (85 kW) and 166 Nm (122 lb-ft) to the front wheels thanks to a new six speed manual transmission (don’t hold your breath for an all-wheel drive version, though). The rest of the regular powerplants for Adam are also available here, like the 1.2-liter 70 hp (51 kW) and the 1.4-liter with 87 hp (64 kW) and 100 hp (73 kW) along with a downsized 90 hp (66 kW) version of the new 3-cylinder.
