Porsche has introduced the Macan during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, where the “baby Cayenne” has been seen in a local premiere.
The Porsche Macan has been already presented to the public, during the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, in a world premiere, and now the small SUV is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the company bringing it to the 2014 Geneva Motor Show too. The Macan is currently being offered in a five-door body style and it’s a direct competitor for the Range Rover Evoque, standing at 4,681 mm long, 1,923 mm wide and 1,624 mm tall.
The new Porsche Macan is currently produced in Leipzig, Germany, along with the Panamera and its larger brother, the Cayenne. The company is offering a 3-engine choice for the small SUV, where the Macan S is getting a 3.0 liter twin turbo petrol burner, with 335 HP (250 kW) and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) of torque, the Macan S Diesel has a 3.0 liter turbo diesel with 254 HP (189 kW) and 580 Nm (428 lb-ft) of torque and the Macan Turbo is getting a larger 3.6 liter twin turbo unit, rated at 395 HP (295 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. The top of the line version can reach a top speed of 266 km/h (165 mph).
