After it previously disclosed it’s preparing another special edition line-up featuring the Ocean Race moniker, Volvo has officially unveiled it to the public during the Geneva auto show.
The Ocean Race Edition line-up has reached its fifth year of availability and encompasses four Volvo models, the V60, V40, V40 Cross Country and XC6 – and are all inspired by the ocean, of course, and Volvo’s implication in sailing sports.
“The Volvo Ocean Race Edition reflects our brand strategy to design cars around the customers. It reflects the values Volvo buyers look for when they choose a car for an active lifestyle and exciting adventures, without compromising on safety, environmental care and fuel-efficiency,” says Anders H Gustavsson, Vice President Special Vehicles at Volvo Car Group.
The Ocean Race package includes special colors, like the Ocean Blue II, Bright Silver, Black Sapphire and Crystal White and also features new designs for the wheels – 17- or 18-inch Portunus-style alloys. The interior brings forth “Volvo Ocean Race” branded sill plates, black or “blond” leather upholstery garnished with orange contrast stitching.
There will also be on display the Ocean Race editions of the V70 and XC70 models, which are different from the aforementioned models – they feature other alloys, and a lowered suspension and black leather seats with cream contrast stitching for the V70 wagons.
