Opel has managed to squeeze an impressive 150 HP out of its Adam city car, as the so-called “Adam S” has been officially introduced at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
Besides its more rugged version, the Opel Adam has also received a hotter variant at the Swiss automotive event. The soc-called Opel Adam S is coming with a four-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing 150 HP (110 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. This engine has been especially developed for the Adam S and it’s providing 50 HP and 70 percent more torque than the naturally aspirated variant.
Power is being sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Top speed of the car stands at 220 km/h (137 mph) but the 0 to 100 km/h time is now known so far. The show car had 18-inch alloy wheels and 225/35 tires, OPC S brakes with 16- and 15- inch front and rear discs equipped with red brake calipers, a muscular body with an aggressive exhaust system, Recaro seats in the cabin, red accents on the steering wheel, on the gear shift, on the handbrake lever and more. The Opel Adam S is a close to production vehicle, so expect it in a showroom nearby soon.
