Holden has recently pulled the wraps off the 2014 Cruze in Australia ahead of its launch which was scheduled for April.
The updated Holden Cruze, in the SRi and SRi-V versions, can be distinguished by the aggressive body kit, the new side skirts, the modified bumpers and the rear spoiler, along with the sports suspension system which, according to Holden, was specially developed for the Australian auto market.
“Available in both four-door sedan and five-door hatchback, both models feature exterior sports front and rear fascias, rockers and spoiler. The sports theme continues in the interior with leather wrap steering wheel and shifter with the SRi-V adding a new high quality metal appearance console”, as Holden says in its official press release.
The 2014 Holden Cruze is getting a 1.6 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the SRi and SRi-V, which is developing 179 HP (132 kW) and 230 Nm of torque. The unit can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The mid-level Cruze CDX is getting a 141 HP 1.8 liter four-cylinder petrol unit, or a 2.0 liter diesel with 163 HP (129 kW) and 360 Nm of torque (265 lb-ft). The entry-level CD has been replaced by the Equipe, which is getting AC, audio system, MyLink with 7-inch display and more. The Cruze Equipe has a 1.8 ltier four-cylinder petrol engine, but it’s also available with the 1.4 liter turbo with 140 HP and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft), or with the 2.0 liter diesel unit.
