Jeep has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the brand new 2014 Cherokee, ahead of its public debut during the 2013 New York Auto Show, next month.
While its larger brother, the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been unveiled last month in Detroit, the 2014 Cherokee is now getting ready to be officially presented to the public in New York, at the end of March. The very first images and details with the model have made their way onto the web. The new Cherokee’s design is controversial and we can see some plastic body cladding, some chrome trim, a unique design for the hood, slender headlights and a new grille.
Jeep didn’t release and performance or powertrain details just yet on the 2014 Cherokee but rumors are saying that the model will get a 2.4 liter TigerShark four-cylinder engine under its hood and a 3.2 liter V6. A 2.0 or even a 3.0 diesel unit is expected to make its way under the hood of the European variant. Jeep says that the 2014 Cherokee will be produced in Toledo, Ohio, and the model will go on sale in the third quarter of 2013. More details on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee will be announced in New York.
