2014 Jeep Compass and 2014 Jeep Patriot unveiled

Jeep has recently pulled the wraps off the 2014 Compass and the 2014 Patriot ahead of the models’ debut scheduled for the 2013 Detroit Motor Show on the 14th of January.

According to the North American based automaker, the 2014 Jeep Compass and the 2014 Jeep Patriot have received some significant upgrades and the biggest news is probably the addition of the six-speed automatic transmission. The gearbox I sourced from PowerTech and it will help the two models to improve their fuel economy. However, Jeep didn’t announce any official figures on this subject just yet.

The 2014 Jeep Compass and the 2014 Jeep Patriot in the Latitude and the Limited models will get the transmission mentioned above as standard, while on the Sport trim it will be available as an option. The engine lineup of the two models mentioned above remains intact and we can still find the 2.0 liter four-cylinder with 158 HP (118 kW) and 141 lb-ft (191 Nm) of torque and the larger 2.4 liter four-cylinder generating 172 HP (128 kW) and 165 lb-ft of torque (223 Nm). Prices for the 2014 Jeep Patriot will start at 15,995 USD and for the 2014 Jeep Compass the price will be announced shortly.
