The facelifted version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 has been recently spotted on the road where it was being tested.
The North American based automaker Jeep might try to keep the facelifted Grand Cherokee SRT8 away from curious eyes but the guys at worldcarfans.com have recently managed to capture it on camera. According to our source, this is a prototype version of the powerful crossover, but the final production version of the model will get different front and rear fascias, along with updated infotainment system in the cabin, a new instrument cluster and some metallic accents for a “touch of sportiveness”.
The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 facelift is expected to be powered by a 6.4 liter HEMI V8 engine, which will generate a total output of 470 horsepower (476 PS / 350 kW) and it will have a peak torque of 630 Nm (465 lb-ft). The engine will help the powerful crossover to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.8 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 160 mph (257 km/h). Our source says that the final production version of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 might be officially presented to the public next year, during the 2013 NAIAS in Detroit.
