Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus has released a new teaser image with the upcoming 2014 IS, which is said to be inspired by the LF-CC Concept car.
The newest model to enter Lexus’ lineup is named the 2014 IS and the vehicle has been teased once more with the help of a new image. The 2014 Lexus IS is expected to be inspired by the Lexus LF-CC Concept car, which was officially presented to the public a few months ago, during the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The model in question will also ride on a shortened version of the same platform which is underpinning the GS, but it’s getting a tweaked suspension with stiffer anti-roll bars.
The 2014 Lexus LIS will get a 2.5 liter V6 engine under its hood, which will produce a total output of 200 HP (149 kW). A larger 3.5 liter V6 will also be offered on the model and this should generate more than 300 HP (224 kW). A hybridized four-cylinder 2.5 liter unit will become available too for its future customers, developing approximately 240 HP (179 kW), mated to a CVT. This version should be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph). Fuel consumption will stand at 3.8 L / 100 km (73 mpg UK / 60.7 mpg US) and the CO2 emissions will stop right under 100 g/km.
