2014 Maserati Quattroporte to get V6 diesel, V6 petrol and AWD

The Italian based automaker is planning to introduce a V6 diesel and a V6 petrol engines on the new generation of the Maserati Quattroporte.

Rumor has it that the sixth generation of the Maserati Quattroporte will hit the market with a new V6 diesel engine, along with a V6 petrol generating 410 BHP and a V8 which will produce 530 BHP. This will be a significant increase in power compared to the current 4.7 liter V8 on the Quattroporte GT s, which is the most powerful version of the current model with its 450 HP. An AWD version of the Quattroporte will also hit the market next year, under the “Integrale” name (the same as the popular Lancia Delta Integrale).

Besides the engines mentioned above, rumor is saying that at the time of its launch, the new generation of the Maserati Quattroporte will also get a 4.7L V8 uniter its hood, made by Ferrari, which should generate 453 BHP. The unit will get lowered CO2 emissions and improved fuel economy and it will be mated to an XF automatic transmission. Additional details on the new generation of the Maserati Quattroporte will be announced during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show, on the 14th of January.
