The new generation of the Mazda3 has fully leaked ahead of its official unveil scheduled for later on today.
As we already knew, the 2014 Mazda3 is adopting the Kodo design language which was first seen on the new Mazda6. The model has sweptback headlights, a prominent front grille, muscular front fenders, wraparound taillights, dual exhaust setup, roof mounted spoiler and much more. The 2014 Mazda3 is 4,465 mm long, 1,795 mm wide and 1,450 mm tall, riding on a 2,700 mm long wheelbase. The total boot space stands at 360 liters but this can be expanded to 1,250 liters with the rear seats folded.
As for the engine lineup, the 2014 Mazda3 will get a 1.5 liter SKYACTIV-G with 100 HP (74 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque (110 l-ft) at 4,000 rpm. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint takes 10.8 seconds and top speed stands at 182 km/h (113 mph). The SKYACTIV-G 2.0 liter is rated at 120 HP (88 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 210 Nm of torque (155 lb-ft) at 4,000 rpm. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in this version takes 8.9 seconds and top speed stands at 195 km/h (121 mph).
The same unit is also offered with the i-ELOOP regenerative braking system, producing 165 HP (121 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 210 Nm of torque (155 lb-ft) at 4,000 rpm. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration takes 8.2 seconds and top speed stands at 210 km/h (130 mph). The SKACTIV-D 2.2 diesel will also be available, with its 150 HP (110 kW) at 4,500 rpm and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) at 1,800 rpm. The 0-100 km/h sprint takes 8.1 seconds and top speed is 210 km/h (130 mph).
