Mercedes-Benz has recently pulled the wraps off the 2014 S65 AMG, ahead of its public debut set for the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, later on this month.
The brand new Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is the most powerful version of the model and it’s getting a 6.0 liter twin turbo V12 engine under its hood, producing a total output of 630 HP (463 kW) between 4,800 rpm and 5,400 rpm, and it has a peak torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft), available between 2,300 and 4,300 rpm. The unit is mated to a 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission.
Mercedes-Benz says that the brand new S65 AMG can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The average fuel consumption in the powerful luxury car will stand at 11.9 L / 100 km (23.7 mpg UK / 19.7 mpg US) while the CO2 emissions will stop at 279 g/km.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is getting standard features such as the Attention Assist, Ambient Lighting, Chauffeur Package, Exclusive Package, Comand Online, Driving Assistance Package Plus, keyless-go, LED Intelligent Light system, Magic Vision Control, panoramic sliding roof, Parking Package, Pre-Safe Plus, electrically adjustable rear seats, Burmester 3D surround sound system and a lot more.
The optional features found on the model in question include the AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber Package, the AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather / Dinamica, the AMG ceramic high performance composite braking system, the AMG trim in carbon fiber / black piano lacquer, the red painted brake calipers, 360-degree camera, Executive seat, individual entertainment system in the rear, warmth comfort package or the designo appointments packages.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG will go on sale in March next year and it will receive a starting price set at 232,050 euros, VAT included, in Germany. Additional details on the model will be announced close to its launch.
