The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi has officially presented to the public the new generation of the Outlander during the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The all-new Mitsubishi Outlander is wearing the 2014 model year in its name and the model is getting a sleeker exterior styling, an upgraded interior design and revised engines. The third generation of the Mitsubishi SUV has lost an inch in length and it’s now 200 pounds lighter than the outgoing model. Exterior changes include the raised belt line, the new front grille, the wraparound headlights and an overall different design.
The cabin of the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander can seat seven passengers and higher quality materials have been used here. Three new safety systems are available for the model, the forward-collision mitigation, the adaptive cruise control and the lane departure warning. Optional features include the next-gen navigation system or the Rockford Fosgate stereo system. The engine lineup includes the 2.4 liter four-cylinder unit and a revised version of the 3.0 liter V6. Mitsubishi didn’t confirm the horsepower figures just yet. A CVT is available for the four-cylinder unit and a six-speed automatic for the V6. Additional details on the model, including the picing, will be announced close to its launch.
