Chevrolet has officially presented to the public the new Corvette Z06 Coupe and Z06 Convertible during the 2014 New York Auto Show.
The most powerful Corvette currently available to order new from dealerships has been officially introduced at the 2014 New York Auto Show. We’re talking about the Corvette Z06 which is currently available in two body styles, Coupe and Convertible. Chevy says that the curb weight of the drop-top version is nearly identical to the one of the Coupe and when compared to its solid roof brother, the aluminum structure is actually 20 percent stiffer.
The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible has a roof system which can be operated at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph). Power to the model is being provided by the same engine used on the Coupe too, the 6.2 liter LT4 supercharged V8 engine. The unit in question is developing a total output of 625 HP and it has a peak torque of 645 lb-ft. The Z06 Convertible and the Z06 Coupe are using the Active Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation) system and continuously variable valve timing (CVVT), just like the Corvette Stingray.
