The brand new Kia Sedona has been officially presented to the public in New York, in a global premiere.
The new minivan has received an almost flat roof and it’s providing enough headroom in all rows and like most vehicles in this segment, in the United States, it has rear sliding doors and it can accommodate 8 passengers. As far as the design changes go, these include the signature grille, the headlights with the LED positioning lamps, the LED taillights, the standard roof spoiler and the integrated bumper guard. Kia says that the new Sedona has grown by 41 mm.
Control systems found on the model include the Cornering Brake Control, the Roll Over Mitigation, the Brake Assist, the Hill Start Assist, the ABS and the ESC. The front-engined and front wheel-drive model is taking its power from a 3.3 liter V6 GDI unit. This is developing a total output of 276 HP, at 6,000 rpm, and it has a peak torque of 336 Nm, available at 5,200 rpm. The unit is mated to an electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission. The 2015 Kia Sedona will go on sale later on this year. No pricing details have been announced yet.
