Opel has recently pulled the wraps off the 2014 Astra, which has received some minor updates along with a brand new diesel engine.
The 2014 Opel Astra is now available for order with a brand new diesel engine. We are talking about the 1.6 liter CDTI unit, which is producing a total output of 136 HP (100 kW) and it has a peak torque of 320 Nm (236 lb-ft). The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in the hatchback equipped with this engine takes 10.3 seconds and top speed stands at 200 km/h (124 mph). The average fuel consumption is 3.9 liters / 100 km (72.4 mpg UK / 60.3 mpg US) and the CO2 emissions stop at 104 g/km.
Besides the new diesel engine, the 2014 Opel Astra has also received the 7-inch touch screen display, for the new IntelliLink infotainment system. The cheapest version of the 2014 Opel Astra is getting the CD player with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity, while the top of the line variant will receive the Navi 950. The new Active Package can also be ordered by future owners of the 2014 Opel Astra, which is adding the LED daytime running lights, the cloth / leather seats, Piano Black trim or entry-level IntelliLink infotainment. No pricing details have been announced yet.
