JLR has recently announced its plans to introduce the new generation of the Range Rover Sport to the 2013 New York Auto Show, in a world premiere.
After it was spied over these past few months while being tested in cold weather in Northern Europe or in hot weather in the Mojave Desert, the new generation of the Range Rover Sport is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time by the British based automaker. According to the company, the brand new 2014 Range Rover Sport will be officially presented to the public later on this month, during the 2013 New York Auto Show, and to highlight the event, JLR has released the first teaser image with the popular SUV.
Rumors are saying that the 2014 Range Rover Sport will be approximately 350 kg lighter than its predecessor, thanks to the new aluminum chassis shared with the new Range Rover, and the model is expected to become a gap between the Evoque and the more luxurious Range Rover. The 2014 Range Rover Sport should get the same 3.0 liter V6 engine under its hood, shared with the 2013 Range Rover, which is producing 258 BHP, along with a 4.4 liter TDV8 and the supercharged 5.0 liter V8 petrol. Prices for the 2014 Range Rover Sport should start at 55,000 GBP. Additional details on the model will be announced in New York.
