Skoda has recently announced the production start of the new Octavia generation in India, at the Aurangbad facility.
The new generation of the Skoda Octavia has been already launched in several markets across the Old Continent and the model is now getting ready to storm Asia, as the carmaker has started producing it in India, at the Aurangbad plant.
“The new Skoda Octavia is now being produced at purpose-built facilities in one of the international growth markets. By far our most important model in the Indian market is also an engine of growth for Skoda”, said Winfried Vahland, the Skoda CEO.
The 2014 Skoda Octavia is now 90 mm longer and 45 mm wider than the previous model. Its wheelbase has increased by 108 mm and this is translated into a more spacious cabin and an extra trunk capacity. The model in question is coming with an engine lineup including the 1.8 liter TSI with 179 HP (132 kW) or the 1.6 liter TDI GreenLine, which is good for 110 HP (81 kW). The average fuel consumption in the small diesel unit stands at 3.4L / 100km and the CO2 emissions stop at 89 g/km.
