Skoda has recently pulled the wraps off the new generation of the Octavia Estate, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
After the brand new 2014 Skoda Octavia has been unveiled a few months ago for the first time, time has come for the Czech based automaker to present a new version of the popular model, the 2014 Octavia Estate. The model has a total boot capacity of 610 liters with the seats up, which is 20 more than the standard version, and this can go up to 1,740 liters with the rear seats folded. This is already more than the competition, where the Megane Sport Tourer has 524 liters and the Astra Sports Tourer just 500 liters.
The 2014 Skoda Octavia Estate is riding on a wheelbase 11 cm longer than the one used on the hatchback, and this is translated into a 73 mm increase in rear passenger room. The Estate is 90 mm linger and 45 mm wider than the outgoing version, and this is natural, considering the fact that the Octavia has slightly increased in size in order to make room for the new entry-level Rapid. The new Octavia 4×4 will also make its way onto the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Additional details on the 2014 Octavia Estate are limited for the moment and will be announced in a couple of weeks.
