The Czech based automaker Skoda has released a second teaser image with the new generation of the Octavia RS, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The new generation of the Skoda Octavia RS, which is wearing the 2014 model year in its name, is also the fastest ever production version of the Octavia made by the company. The model is longer, roomier and has a larger boot than its predecessor, a move made in order for the Octavia to make room for the new Rapid. The 2014 Skoda Octavia RS is aimed towards families looking for a new and powerful car with “hot hatch” performance.
Power to the 2014 Octavia RS is expected to be provided by the same engine found under the hood of the new VW Golf GTI, the 2.0 liter TFSI, which will produce approximately 220 HP (164 kW) and 350 Nm of torque (258 lb-ft). A more powerful version of the model might be offered, with 250 HP. The 2014 Skoda Octavia RS will be officially presented to the public on the 11th of July, during the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Additional details on the model remain unknown for now.
