A second teaser image with the future generation of the Skoda Octavia has been recently released by the Czech based automaker.
Skoda is trying to play tough these days but after everyone interested in the subject has seen the photos with the naked 2014 Octavia spied in Chile a couple of weeks ago, the two teaser images don’t seem that important anymore. Still, let’s play the Skoda game and talk about the first image, which is revealing the left taillight, similar to the one used on the brand new Rapid, or the second teaser image, which is showing the left C-pillar, part of the window and door.
But, then again, rather than talk about the teaser images, we can tell you that the future generation of the Skoda Octavia will use the same platform found on the brand new Golf, Leon or A3, the MQB, which will allow the model to increase in size in order to make room for the Rapid. The platform won’t be the only thing shared with the Golf 7 because the engine lineup is expected to be similar too, including the unit found on the new GTI, which will make its way under the hood of the future Octavia vRS. Additional details on the new Skoda Octavia are limited and will be announced during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March.
