Skoda has released the very first details on the engine lineup which will be adopted by the new generation of the Octavia.
After the 2014 Skoda Octavia has been unveiled not too long ago, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 14th of January, during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show, the new generation of the popular model is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the Czech based automaker announcing the very first official details on the model’s engine lineup. Four petrol units will be available for the 2014 Skoda Octavia, including the 1.2 TSI with 86 HP (63 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft), which will be offered for the entry-level model.
The unit will be followed by another 1.2 TSI Green tec, with 105 HP (77 kW) and 175 Nm (129 lb-ft), by a 1.4 TSI Green tec with 140 HP (103 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) and by the powerful 1.8 TSI Green tec with its 180 HP (132 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft). Diesel lovers will be able to choose from three 1.6 TDI, with 90 HP (66 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft), with 105 HP (77 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) and with 110 HP (81 kW). The diesel lineup will end with the 2.0 TDI Green tec, with its 150 HP (110 kW) and 320 Nm of torque (236 lb-ft). The units will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission or to a seven-speed DSG.
