2014 Volkswagen Golf R rendered image

A new rendering with the upcoming Volkswagen Golf R has recently hit the web and it might provide us with a first look into the production version of the model.

The German based automaker Volkswagen is currently testing and tweaking the brand new Golf R generation and the model is getting closer and closer to its future customers. But before you will be able to see it in a showroom near you, VW has to make sure that everything is in its place and working just like it should. And let’s not forget the exterior design, which is currently being camouflaged in most spy photos which are ending up on the web.

The image posted above represents a rendering based on the concept car and also on some spy photos and we must admit that the most powerful version of the Golf will look stunning if the company decides to adopt this design. The model in question will get a limited slip differential, a four-tailpipe exhaust system, a bespoke ESC and much more. Power will be provided by a 286 HP (213 kW) and 379 Nm of torque (280 lb-ft) 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which will be mated to a dual-clutch transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint should be done in approximately 5 seconds.
