The new generation of the Audi R8 supercar has been recently caught on camera while it was being tested on the track.
With the Lamborghini Gallardo replacement unveiled a couple of months ago, all eyes have been on the future generation of the Audi R8 and it seems that the German supercar is taking shape. The carmaker is currently testing out the model in question on the track as our spy photographers have managed to capture it on camera. The supercar has a more angular style and modern design, along with an interior similar to the one used on the Audi TT Concept.
The new Audi R8 generation will be built using light weight materials to drop its total weight, improve its performance and lower its fuel consumption. The model in question will use a mid-engined platform, which is also shared with the Lamborghini Huracan. As for the engine which will power the German supercar, chances are it will be a twin turbo V8 or even a naturally aspirated V10, but no details on this have been announced yet. The gearbox should be a 7-speed dual clutch automatic S-tronic, along with a 6-speed manual for enthusiasts. The new Audi R8 is believed to make its public debut this year, probably during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, in October.
