Audi has officially pulled the wraps off the 2015 TT and TT S Roadster ahead of the vehicles’ official debut which will take place next week, during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
The 2015 Audi TT Roadster is following the same footsteps as the Coupe and it is adopting a sportier exterior design, along with a fabric roof, which is power folding, finished in either titanium gray, jive or black. Audi says that the roof can be opened and closed in 10 seconds, at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph), and thanks to the use of aluminum and magnesium, 3 kg have been saved here, compared to its predecessor.
The 2015 Audi TT Roadster is riding on the same MQB platform which is also shared with other vehicles created by the Volkswagen Group and it is utilizing some aluminum and ultra high strength components, keeping the total weight of the 2.0 TFSI version at 1,320 kg (2,910 lbs). Audi says that at the time of its launch, the 2015 TT Roadster will become available with a choice of two turbocharged engines.
The lineup will be including the 2.0 liter TFSI four-cylinder unit, rated at 230 HP (169 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque, along with another four-cylinder engine, this time a diesel burner, the 2.0 liter TDI, with its 184 HP (135 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. The TT S is packing a 2.0L TFSI four-cylinder with 310 HP (228 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 4.9 seconds in this version and top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
