The new generation of the BMW X6 has been officially unveiled ahead of its public debut which will be made during the 2014 Moscow Motor Show.
After introducing the new generation of the X5, the German based automaker BMW has finally pulled the wraps off the brand new X6 too, which has received a completely new body style but it is still following the footsteps of its predecessor, adopting a sporty exterior design. The model in question is getting improved aerodynamics and some standard equipment which is including the bi-xenon headlights, automatic tailgate or the 19-inch alloy wheels, as the company is saying.
Besides the regular version, there will also be an M Sport variant which will stand out from a crowd thanks to its aerodynamic body kit, to its 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels, to the matte aluminum grille, Adaptive M suspension system, self-leveling rear air suspension and upgraded interior. As far as the cabin goes, this very much resembles the one from the new X5 generation and it includes the Dakota leather seats, the 10.25-inch display for the iDrive infotainment system, the sport steering wheel and so on.
The interior design of the new generation BMW X6 is also getting the dual-zone climate control, the knee pads mounted on the center console or a choice of the Poplar Grain, Fineline Pure, Brushed Aluminum, American Oak, Fineline Stripe or Oxide Silver trim levels. The luggage compartment has a total capacity of 1,525 liters.
The 2015 BMW X6 will become available with three different engines once it will go on sale, as the carmaker is saying in its official press release. This will include the X6 xDrive50i, with its 4.4 liter TwinPower Turbo V8, producing 450 HP (330 kW), and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque, the xDrive30d, with 258 HP (190 kW) an 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque from the 3.0L TwinPower Turbo, or the M50d, coming with a tri-turbo 3.0L six-cylinder engine, rated at 381 HP (280 kW) and 740 Nm (545 lb-ft) of torque. The lineup will also include, later on, the sDrive35i, the xDrive35i and the xDrive40d.
