Chevrolet has officially pulled the wraps off the 2015 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Special Service Vehicle (SSV), ahead of its launch which has been scheduled for this summer.
Chevrolet’s newest creation is the 2015 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Special Service Vehicle. The model in question looks similar to the standard vehicle but this has received some auxiliary transmission oil cooler, four upfitter switches and a high-output alternator, along with an auxiliary battery, which can power everything from computers to auxiliary lights and a 110-volt outlet.
“The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Special Service Vehicle (SSV) joins the brand’s growing police vehicle portfolio. It goes on sale this summer, offering the same capabilities, efficiency and durability as the award-winning Silverado 1500, with special features designed for police use”, says the carmaker in its official press release.
The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab Special Service Vehicle (SSV) has a headlight and taillight flasher system, a spotlight, a rearview camera and a “common key”. Power to the model is being provided by a 5.3 liter EcoTec3 V8 engine, which has been rated at 355 HP (264 kW) and 518 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque. The RWD is offered as standard but AWD is coming as an option.
