2015 Chevrolet Spark EV gets price drop in the U.S. image

While the Fiat 500e is the subject of a recall over-seas, Chevrolet has recently lowered the price of the 2015 Spark EV, by 1, 650 USD.

The 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV can now be ordered by its future customers for as little as 14,995 USD. The model can also be bought on a 39-month sign-and-drive lease, which will be setting you back for 139 USD per month, with 0 USD down. This cannot be considered extremely cheap but it will not ruin your bank account either.

“Chevrolet is committed to making EV driving more accessible, affordable and fun. The Spark EV is already the most efficient – and one of the most affordable – EVs you can buy. 2015 Spark EV customers will benefit from an impressive blend of technology, capability and low cost of ownership, now at an even more impressive price”, said Steve Majoros, the Chevrolet Car and Crossover Marketing director.

Without the state and federal incentives, the starting price of the 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV stands at 25,995 USD, but once these kick in, you can have the small city cruiser for as low as 14,995 USD. The “green” vehicle is using a 21 kWh lithium ion battery under its body, powering the electric motor which is producing a total of 130 HP (96 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), this needs about 8 seconds and it has a total driving range of up to 132 km (82 miles).

If you have ever taken one for a test drive you would probably realize why they had to lower the price. If you think the outside is not very attractive wait until you see the very cheap inside. Not exactly a winning smile on that car.
