The first teaser images with the brand new 2015 Daihatsu Copen have been recently released by the car manufacturer as the model in question is said to go on sale soon.
Originally previewed by the concept car back in 2013, during the Tokyo Motor Show, the Daihatsu Copen is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the carmaker releasing some teaser images with it. The production model is promising to be affordable, fun and lightweight and even if the exterior isn’t revealing too much, the model is said to have a composite body made of thirteen outer plates, removable, so that customers can easily customize the exterior.
The 2015 Daihatsu Copen will also come with a power operated roof which can be opened in approximately 20 seconds. The Copen will come with a D-Frame skeletal structure which is three times stiffer than the chassis used on the original model. Power to the model will be provided by a 660cc turbocharged engine, which is good for 64 HP (47 kW) and 92 Nm (68 lb-ft) of torque. The unit will be mated to a five-speed manual or an optional CVT. More details on the model are limited for the moment and will be announced close to its debut.
