2015 Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car unveiled at SEMA image

The Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car has been officially introduced at the 2014 SEMA Motor Show.

Dodge and Mopar have joined forces in order to create this Charger R/T Funny Car which has been developed with Don Schumacher Racing. The model in question has a new one piece body, made from carbon fiber and Kevlar, a modified position and shape of the windshield and greenhouse for improved sight lines and several other tweaks.

“The process of designing and building this new race car has been a true collaborative effort between our own engineering team (the same one that designs our production Charger and Challenger street vehicles) and Don Schumacher Racing, and we are very excited with what we have brought to fruition”, said Mopar’s president and CEO, Pietro Gorlier.

The current Mopar Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car has managed to win 68 national titles and 2 NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) Funny Car World Championships, 44 No.! Qualifier honors and the first 3-second run in NHRA’s history. The new model is on display at the Las Vegas Convention Center until the 7th of November, 2014, and it will be making its on-track debut at the 2015 season opening.
