Ford has officially pulled the wraps of a 2015 F-150, equipped with a snow plow, during the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, in a premiere.
The 2015 Ford F-150 is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the carmaker officially unveiling a unit which has been equipped with a snow plow. According to the North American based automaker, the snow plow prep option will be offered as an option on the truck and it has been apparently designed in-house, by Ford.
“The new 2015 F-150 is the toughest F-150 ever, and by using more high-strength steel in its frame and advanced materials in the body, we’ve made the new truck up to 700 pounds lighter. This leads to more capability and better handling, which is exactly what you’d want for plowing. Adding a snow plow prep kit to our lineup helps ensure our customers have even more tools at their disposal to get the job done”, said the F-150 marketing manager, Eric Peterson.
The snow plow will become available on all cab configurations of the brand new Ford F-150, including the Regular, SuperCab and SuperCrew and customers interested in it will have to take their rides to a Ford qualified vehicle modifier to buy and then install it. The plow weight stands at 204 kg (450 lbs) and it can be installed on the XL, XLT and Lariat trims. This can be activated by the simple push of a button, mounted in the cabin. No pricing details have been announced yet.
