Ford has released some new and interesting details on the 2015 Mustang but performance figures are still being kept a secret, for the moment at least.
The 2015 Ford Mustang will be coming, in its base entry-level version, with a 3.7 liter V6 engine, which has been rated at 300 HP. This will be followed by the four-cylinder 2.3 liter EcoBoost, one of the most controversed engines in history, which is producing 310 HP and 433 (320 lb-t) of torque. The top of the line Mustang GT will be getting a 5.0 liter V8 unit under its hood, producing 435 HP and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque.
The total weight of the 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost stands at 1,602 kg (3,532 lbs) while the V6 and the GT weigh 1,599 kg (3,526 lbs) and 1,680 kg (3,705 lbs), respectively. The units can be connected to a six-speed manual transmission, which has a new shift linkage design for improved precision and for easier engagement, or to the 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, which is coming with steering wheel mounted paddle sifters. As we said in the first paragraph, Ford hasn’t announced any performance figures on the 2015 Mustang just yet and this will probably be made public during an upcoming international automotive event.
