The new generation of the Ford Mustang has been officially unveiled by the North American based automaker.
The Ford officials have kept their words and they have pulled the wraps off the 2015 Mustang, which now has a bold and aggressive design, a trapezoidal grille, slender headlights, a raked windscreen, a sculpted hood, three-dimensional tri-bar taillights with sequential turn signals, wider rear fenders and much more. The brand new Ford Mustang is also getting a multilayer insulated cloth top, on the convertible version, which should reduce noise in the cabin. The new roof will also lower twice as fast as the one of its predecessor.
The 2015 Ford Mustang’s cabin has been inspired from aviation and it’s getting a technological makeover which includes the MyColor gauges, the Track Apps, the SYNC, MyFord Touch, Access, Shaker Pro audio system and much more. The cabin of the muscle car is also adopting higher quality materials than the outgoing version of the Mustang. Ford says that the new vehicle has seen some significant change in its suspension system, which is now independent on the rear axle. A new stability control has been also tuned in order to maximize the car’s dynamic capabilities.
“Ford Mustang inspires passion like no other car. The visceral look, sound and performance of Mustang resonates with people, even if they’ve never driven one. Mustang is definitely more than just a car – it is the heart and soul of Ford”, said the Ford Global Product Development vice president, Raj Nair.
As far as the engine lineup goes, the new generation of the Ford Mustang will get the 3.7 liter V6 unit under its hood, which will produce 300 HP (223 kW) and 365 Nm (270 lb-ft) of torque, a 5.0 liter V8 with its 420 HP (313 kW) and 528 Nm (390 lb-ft) of torque and, for the first time in history, a four-cylinder unit, in the shape of a 2.3 liter EcoBoost, with its 305 HP (227 kW) and 406 Nm (300 lb-ft) of torque. All engines can be mated to a manual or an automatic transmission, which have been improved. The new Ford Mustang generation will be brought in key parts of Asia and Europe.
