Ford has officially announced some new details on the 2015 Transit, which will go on sale this summer.
The current generation of the Ford Transit is not exactly brand new but, even so, the North American based automaker has recently updated it for the 2015 model year. The model in question will become available in four body styles, the cutaway body, the chassis cab, the van and the wagon and it will also be offered in three body lengths. The vehicle will also come with three different roof heights and in two wheelbases, for the wagon and for the van.
“Transit is Built Ford Tough and represents One Ford at its best, building on lessons learned from our decades of leadership in the commercial vehicle markets in the United States and Europe”, said the company’s VP, Kumar Galhotra.
The 2015 Ford Transit has a maximum payload capacity of 2,109 kg and a towing capacity of 3,402 kg. IT will be hitting the market with a choice of three engines, the 3.7L V6, with 275 GP (205 kW) and 352 Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque, the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 with 310 HP (231 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque and the 3.2L Power Stroke 5-cylinder diesel unit, producing 185 HP (135 kW) and 474 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque.
