Audi is introducing the new S4 Sedan and S4 Avant in Frankfurt, in a world premiere.
After pulling the wraps off the new generation of the A4 a few month back, time has come for the carmaker to introduce the new S4, in the two body styles, Sedan and Avant. The vehicle is now sitting 23 mm closer to the road compared to the regular A4 and it is riding on 18-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 245/40 tires, with 19-inch ones offered as an option.
In the four-door body style, the vehicle is weighing 1,630 kg and in five-door it stands at 1,675 kg. The cabin of the two models is getting the S sport seats which have been wrapped in pearl Nappa leather and Alcantara. This is also coming with the optional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster from the regular versions and it has illuminated door sill trims with the S4 logo.
Some of the standard features of the car include the LED headlights but there are also optional matrix LED headlights offered as well, along with the tailgate sensor for the S4 Avant and a head-up display. Its engine is capable of putting down a total of 350 HP (260 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. This is now more powerful than before and it is also lighter, providing an improved fuel efficiency.
The turbocharged six-cylinder unit is working together with a new 8-speed tiptronic transmission, sending power to the Quattro all-wheel drive system, and this is allowing the S4 Sedan to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.7 seconds, before going to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The average fuel consumption stands at 7.4L / 100km and the CO2 emissions stop at 170 g/km. The new Audi S4 Sedan and S4 Avant will be offered for sale next year but no pricing details have been announced so far.
