2015 Frankfurt Motor Show: Lamborghini Huracan Spyder image

The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder has made its public debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The newest supercar born in Sant’Agata Bolognese is called the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder. This is carrying most of the coupe’s design and it has received an electrohydraulic soft top which can be opened and closed in approximately 17 seconds, at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 miles). The roof can be operated through a new button mounted on the center tunnel and, regardless of the roof being up or down, the driver can also open the rear window.

The fabric roof can be finished in black, brown and red and it has a built-in duct which is reducing turbulence in the headroom while driving with the roof down. Two removable later wind guards have been also added to the supercar in order to enhance comfort by damping the lateral aerodynamic pulsations and there are also two fins for the airflow optimizing through the engine department which has been covered by the slated hood.

The Lamborghini Huracan is weighing a total of 1,542 kg and it is making use of the same engine found on its solid roof brother (and not only), the 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V10. This is still capable of putting down a total of 602 HP (449 kW) at 8,250 rpm and a peak torque of 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque, available at 6,500 rpm. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), this needs 3.4 seconds and it can go to 200 km/h (124 mph) from a standstill in 10.2 seconds. Top speed stands at 324 km/h (201 mph).

Lamborghini says that the average fuel consumption of the supercar stands at 12.3 L / 100 km (23 mpg UK / 19.1 mpg US) which is not bad at all considering the fact that we are talking about a V10 engine. The model has also received the cylinder on demand technology and a start/stop system. Carbon ceramic brakes can also be found on it, along with LED headlights, a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster, 20-inch Giano alloy wheels and more. The exotic vehicle will be offered for sale soon and the first deliveries will begin in spring, 2016. The starting price of the Huracan Spyder stands at 186,450 euros, plus taxes.
