Mercedes-AMG is the automaker’s performance division and it’s been choke full of novelties lately, including the official worldwide public debut of the sporty and sleek C63 Coupe.
The Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe has been based off the regular C Class Coupe and thus comes with a familiar design – though there are enough modifications, including an aggressive front fascia with dynamic front bumper, a refreshed grille and a new engine bonnet. There’s also a trunk spoiler and very light allows that give us a glimpse towards the high-performance braking system. At the back we also have a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system. Inside the cabin there are ARTICO / DINAMICA sport seats, a flat bottom steering wheel, AMG badging and carbon fiber trim. Performance has been enhanced through the modified suspension and the AMG developed rear with a specifically designed axle carrier, a wider track, stiffer elastokinematic tuning and a higher negative camber. There’s also a limited-slip rear differential, dynamic engine mounts and the AMG AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension that enables adjustable damping.
Under the hood the regular C63 Coupe uses the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine outputting 476 PS (469 bhp / 349 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. Mated to the seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission, the performance machine will jump to 100 km/h in 4 seconds and top out at an electronically limited speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) – 290 km/h (180 mph) if the AMG Driver Package is selected.
If that is not enough, there’s also the option of the C63 S Coupe that comes with the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, albeit updated to deliver 510 PS (503 bhp / 375 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. This setup will lower the 0-100 km/h sprint to 3.9 seconds.
