The new generation of the Honda Civic Type R has debuted at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Despite not exactly being brand new, as it was already unveiled earlier this year, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Honda Civic Type R has managed to attract a lot of curious eyes. The newest hot hatch coming from Japan is wearing an appealing red finish on its body and the same hue has been used for various parts of the interior.
The performance compact car is coming with the usual aerodynamic and more aggressive body kit, with the large rear wing, the large wheels covering the red brake calipers, the quad exhaust tips and so on. The 2016 Honda Civic Type R is also bringing the Brembo braking system, the Advanced Dual Axis Strut Front Suspension, the Four-Wheel Adaptive Damper System, the retuned steering, new trim colors and more.
Customers can choose between five exterior colors, which include the Championship White, the Milano Red, the Polished Metal, the Crystal Black and the Brilliant Sporty Blue. Under its hood, we can find the 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, capable of putting down a total of 310 HP (228 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Power is being sent to the wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the hot hatch needs 5.7 seconds and it can go up to a top speed of 270 km/h (167 mph).
