The brand new Alpina B50 Edition 50 has been officially presented to the public, in a premiere, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
If you happen to be rich but you don’t want people to know it and you happen to fancy fast mid-size sedans, an Alpina can turn out to be even hotter than a true M car. This is what the tuning company is most likely basing its facts on so whenever an Alpina is unveiled, connoisseurs will gather around it. The B5 Edition 50 is the newest creation signed by Alpina and this has been designed to celebrate the company’s 50th birthday, which is this year.
The model in question is limited to just 100 units worldwide, along with the Alpina B6 Biturbo and all versions of the performance vehicle have been weight optimized coming with forged wheels, weighing 15.6 kg less than the standard 20-inch rims. Optional performance brakes with 4-piston calipers and Brembo 395 mm diameter brake discs at the front should also be mentioned, along with the mechanical differential lock, damper and control systems specially adapted to the lighter wheels, Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, carbon fiber panels and so on.
The new Alpina B5 Edition 50 has been fitted with the optional heritage interior with black and green seats, with backrest center panels with diamond quilting in yellow and black, with wood piano lacquer, Edition 50 lettering, an autograph from Herr Bovensiepen and all Alpina emblems in the cabin are made from silver. The 4.4 liter V8 biturbo engine under its hood is rated at 600 HP and 800 Nm of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint made in 4.2s and a top speed of 330 km/h.
