The McLaren P1 GTR has been officially presented to the public, in a premiere, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
The direct competitor for the Ferrari FXX K and the only one at this time is called the McLaren P1 GTR and this has been already unveiled over the web a few weeks back. The track only toy is now coming back with new images as it is currently making its public debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, where it has been shown in a premiere. Compared to its road legal brother, it has received some tweaks which include the polycarbonate side windows, the carbon fiber panels in the engine bay and in the roof, the titanium alloy and Inconel exhaust pipes and several other tweaks.
The British based automaker says that the brand new P1 GTR stands at 50 mm lower and 80 mm wider compared to the regular version of the P1 and its downforce has been improved by 10 percent. The track only supercar is now riding on a fresh set of 19-inch motorsport center-locking alloy wheels, which have been wrapped in Pirelli slick tires and the last thing contributing to its looks is the large fixed wing. Under its hood, the supercar has the same 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine which has been updated to 800 HP (588 kW) while the electric motor is now generating 200 HP (147 kW). The total output produced is 1,000 HP (736 kW). No performance details have been announced at this time.
